Top Teams in Current WTC Cycle

Australia’s perfect record through the first four Test matches of the 2025-27 cycle keeps them well clear as the race for the 2027 World Test Championship final takes shape. The Proteas remain in second, with a commanding series win against India adding to their impressive home run in the competition. And they have a strong chance to finish at the top, needing just 41 points from their remaining eight away Tests.

WTC 2025-27 two best teams at the end of the 71-match cycle qualify for the final. The ICC uses a system of percentage points, where a team gets 12 points for each victory and 4 for a draw. This prevents teams playing more than six series gaining an unfair advantage, with the ICC also using tiebreakers to separate teams at the end of the cycle.
