How Shatter Canada Is Made

Shatter canada is a form of marijuana extract that looks like glass with an amber color. It is one of the most pure forms of marijuana concentrate with a high THC concentration up to 90%. It is typically smoked through what is called a dab rig.

How are containers classified?

The high levels of THC found in shatter can induce intense psychoactive effects for users that range from mood changes, lethargy and drowsiness to pain relief. Indica dominant shatter provides more of a body high that relieves pain and tension while sativa dominant shatter can boost mood and promote energy. While the benefits of shatter are wide ranging for both medical and recreational consumers, it is important to note that with use comes increased tolerance and addiction. It is recommended to only consume shatter in small doses as this concentrated marijuana can be very toxic to the body.

When shatter is made, it uses a closed-loop extraction method where cannabis flower and other plant material are put in a container that is then forced with butane or other hydrocarbon solvents. This process isolates cannabinoids, terpenes and other essential compounds. This mixture is then heated, allowing the solvents to evaporate and leaving behind the extracted cannabis product.

When dabs are smoked, the shatter is placed on a heated nail in the dab rig and the heat from the nail vaporizes it. This process is repeated to inhale the vaporized cannabinoids, which enters the bloodstream and gets absorbed by the endocannabinoid system.
